C++/CLI in Action

This is my 2nd programming book and my first as a solitary author. The book is targeted at Visual C++ developers with a .NET background who need to interop their native code with managed frameworks. The first part of the book discusses the C++/CLI language and semantics, the second part moves into mixed-mode programming techniques, and the third part covers specific managed frameworks and how to interop with them from native code. There are chapters dedicated to mixing MFC with .NET, Windows Forms and MFC interop, interoping with Windows Presentation Foundation, and interoping with Windows Communication Foundation including a discussion on migrating DCOM based applications to WCF.

Extending MFC Applications with the .NET Framework

This is my first technical book and I co-authored it with Tom Archer (of Inside C# fame). It was a great experience to write a book with an eminent author like Tom as well as land up a contract with a major publishing company like Addison Wesley. The best part of writing the book was all the cool stuff I got to learn while I was working on the book.

The book aims to show MFC developers how to boost productivity by incorporating .NET functionality into existing MFC applications. The book was written when the old Managed C++ syntax was in use, and today, while the techniques covered in the book may still apply, the syntax used is not compatible with VC++ 2005 or any later VC++ compiler from Microsoft. [hence the new book]

Summer Love and Some More Cricket

Romantic Comedy I wrote when I was 20 which also happens to be my first novel. It's been written keeping in mind the P G Wodehouse books and I hope I've at least partially succeeded in emulating him. If you do understand and love the game of Cricket, then the book will be even more enjoyable than otherwise.
